Notes From 15 Minutes Of 'The Lost And Damned'

Posted 2/17/09 5:00 am EST by Patrick Klepek in DLC, Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned, Xbox 360

It took a little longer than expected for "The Lost And Damned" to show up on Xbox Live, but almost an hour of downloading time later, the highly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto IV" downloadable content is finally in our possession, and here's what we noticed in our first 15 minutes.

***

We're anxious to spend some more time with "The Lost And Damned," but after waiting more than an hour for the "Grand Theft Auto IV" downloadable content to show up on Xbox Live, we limited ourselves to 15 minutes.

Here's what we noticed in the first 15 minutes of "The Lost And Damned:"

* When you boot up "Grand Theft Auto IV," the game immediately asks if you want to boot up "The Lost And Damned" -- you have the option to say no
* Is this the first downloadable content with a formal introduction and logo?
* Niko Bellic is briefly seen as the bikers make their introduction
* "Highway Star" is the first song that plays, reminding me of "Rock Band"
* Introductory cut scenes provide similar sympathy to the main character most of us felt for Niko -- the question here is how we'll feel at the end
* For once, I don't feel frustrated driving a bike; the mechanics have been tweaked to the point where slightly bumping into something isn't a full wreck

What did you notice? Did you play past the first 15 minutes?
