Criterion Games' tribute to the famous "Ghostbusters" Ecto-1 vehicle in an update for "Burnout Paradise" is not the first time the iconic supernatural car has shown up in video games -- nor will it be its last!

It's only recently that video games have possessed the visual fidelity to properly render the Ecto-1, the siren-wielding car that trotted the Ghostbusters around New York, but it isn't the first time it's shown up in video game.
The "Ghostbusters" franchise -- and by association, the Ecto-1 -- has been a part of video games since the movies debuted in the 1980s. You may have already seen what it looks like in "Burnout Paradise" (if not, scroll to the bottom). But what about its other video game incarnations?
Oddly enough, finding a clear shot of the Ecto-1 featured in this summer's "Ghostbusters: The Video Game" proved the most difficult. In any case, we dug around the Internet this afternoon, and here's what we found:
"Ghostbusters" on the Commodore 64 (1984)

"The Real Ghostbusters" in the arcades (1987)

"Ghostbusters" II on NES (1989)

"Extreme Ghostbusters" on Game Boy Color (1991)
"Ghostbusters: The Video Game" on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS, PC (2009)
"Burnout Paradise" on PS3, 360 (2008)
