MTV Multiplayer isn't in Japan for Tokyo Game Show this week, but we have been closely watching the event unfold from the sidelines.
There are already too many games on my desk for me to play, but can you blame me for wanting to play more?
There is never "enough" for the hardcore gamer.
A few games really caught my eye at this year's TGS. Here are my favorites:
#1 -- "White Knight Chronicles" for PlayStation 3

I've been itching for a Japanese RPG. "Fable II" and "Fallout 3" promise to be great games, but there's something about a Japanese-designed RPG that American designers haven't tried -- or wanted to -- replicate. I don't have this itch very often, but "White Knight Chronicles" looks like it should fit the bill. Plus, it has an entirely separate adventure for online gamers. Two games in one? Nice!

#2 -- "R-Type Dimensions" for Xbox 360
The reason I'm looking forward to this version of "R-Type" is probably different than hardcore shooter fans:' there's a mode with unlimited continues. I've always admired gamers with the patience to memorize bullet patterns and become highly skilled at side scrolling, but that's not me. "R-Type Dimensions" will allow me to appreciate its induced nostalgia without tossing the controller.

#3 -- "Nobi Nobi Boy" for PlayStation 3
Have you seen the trailer?! There are no identifiable reasons why I'm looking forward to "Nobi Nobi Boy." The released trailer doesn't seem to showcase any concrete gameplay elements for the next game from the creator of "Katamari Damacy." But that's all I need to know, and I imagine that's the same for many other gamers. Whatever this "game" is, sign me up for the madness.
