BlizzCon 2008: ‘StarCraft 2′ Is Now A Trilogy

Yes, you read that right.

We have Tracey John reporting live from the floor of BlizzCon, where she’s relaying the first details on Blizzard’s plans to make “StarCraft 2″ a trilogy.

Blizzard said there were a few options on the table when deciding which direction to go in with “StarCraft 2″’s single-player campaign:

a) traditional single-player campaign (linear, less choice, less characters)
b) make each campaign epic but separate and release them individually
c) compromise in the middle, but risk delaying the game greatly

They chose option b. The first in the now three-part “StarCraft 2″ release is “Terrans — Wings of Liberty.” “Zerg — Heart of the Swarm” and “Protoss — Legacy of the Void” will follow separately. No release date has been revealed for any part of the trilogy.

Stay tuned for more details on “StarCraft 2″ and other news out of BlizzCon.
