As you read this, I'm on a plane to Los Angeles heading over for BlizzCon 2008. It's taking place on October 10 and 11 (yes, I'm a little bit early) at the Anaheim Convention Center.
According to the website, I'm to expect various contests, tournaments and panels as well as performances by comedian Patton Oswalt, Video Games Live and Blizzard's own metal outfit Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain. And apparently, you can also apply for jobs there. It's essentially a concert, a job fair and a celebration of Blizzard games all in one place.
Though I've attended the last two Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals in Seoul and Paris, I've never gone to a Stateside Blizzard convention. Thankfully I've got a handy, Blizzard-made survival guide that encourages me to do things like talk to strangers (I think I can do that).
Check back Friday and Saturday to see live event coverage via blog posts, our Twitter feed and flickr. Then expect full interviews with the developers of "StarCraft II," "Diablo III" and "World of Warcraft" as well as a Blizzard executive next week. And if you have any burning questions, feel free to let me know!
