In this special edition of box art reviews, we take a look at the week's brand-new compilations and the aesthetic choices they've made with their covers...

"EA Sports '08 Collection" (PC)
What the Box Tells Us: You'll get every major sports title released last year by Electronic Arts, including basketball, hockey, football, golf and... screaming?
Pros: Five boxes on the cover -- and all "great" games. You can clearly see you're getting a lot.
Cons: The images used to represent the games are taken right off their original box art, which is also featured on the bottom. A bit redundant.
Love It or Leave It: Leave it.

"Dragon Ball Z Trilogy" (PS2)
What the Box Tells Us: There are three "Dragon Ball Z" games. There's also no cover art for those games, just their logos.
Pros: It's not too cluttered for being a trilogy of games.
Cons: How is this cover different from the throngs of other "Dragon Ball Z" games?
Love It or Leave It: Leave it.

"Guild Wars Trilogy" (PC)
What the Box Tells Us: "Guild Wars" has pretty ladies in it, and the three on the cover presumably represent each of the games in the trilogy.
Cons: If someone doesn't know what a trilogy is, they may not know that they're getting three-in-one. Plus, which "Guild Wars" titles?
Pros: It forgoes the usual display of each games' box art by just showing their characters. Much more pleasing to the eye than the other games listed here.
Love It or Leave It: Love it.

"Mortal Kombat Kollection" (PS2)
What the Box Tells Us: Three "Mortal Kombat" games in one, making it an official collection -- with a "K."
Pros: Instead of just slapping the cover art on top, Midway included each individual PS2 game box, with spine, shadows and all.
Cons: Looking at all the boxes together shows how unimaginative the past games' covers have been. Use the dragon logo, much?
Love It or Leave It: Leave it.

"Onimusha: The Essentials" (PS2)
What the Box Tells Us: Forget the other "Onimusha" games; these are the only three you need.
Pros: The cover shows the three games you'll be getting, and each of the titles' box art seems to have at least some visible differences in contrast to the red background.
Cons: But I can barely see what's in the red background. It's visually confusing; consumers might think it's a survival horror game.
Love It or Leave It: Leave it.
