Yesterday was a day without much gaming. But I did receive copies of September’s “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” that I am eager to try. I’ve got DS, Wii and 360 versions to mess with. They remain unplayed as of this writing, still sitting in the packaging they came in for the past 20 hours.
Who else leaves new games untouched?
Back when I had to buy most of my games (sorry, diary readers!), I used to be manic about getting whichever game I was excited about home from the store, but then felt perfectly fine waiting to play it. The mere fact of knowing that “F-Zero X” was now in my possession was enough. Having a shrink-wrapped copy of “Shadow of the Colossus” next to my PS2 was itself a victory.
Opening these games and playing them could wait a day or two or three.
I was never sure if I was alone or if there were other people like me. That said, I’ll probably crack open “Star Wars” tonight, unless “Spore” shows up.
Next: I believe I just said that I’ll crack open “Star Wars” tonight.
