What does it take to be a rock star? Do you need to possess talent, or is hanging around people with it good enough?
I'm hoping the latter is true; next week, I'll be stepping aside for a few days to hop on a tour bus with my brother's band, The Audition. They're part of Vans Warped Tour this year.
Naturally, my biggest concern so far has been what games I'll play on the bus. But I've already picked out a pair of handheld adventures.
"Patapon" and "The World Ends With You" are at the top of my list. There's little chance that I'll have enough free time to finish either, but knowing that I have a tendency to become obsessed over finishing games I start, maybe this will kick me into gear. Or I might just drop them as soon as I return home.
I could actually bring "Metal Gear Solid 4" along, as well. The Audition's tour bus is rigged up to a decent TV. But that would mean bringing an expensive console onto a tour bus loaded with early twenty-somethings whose daily routine consists of partying during the day and sleeping off said partying at night.

Instead, I'll opt to bring along the band's requests from my own Xbox 360 collection: "Grand Theft Auto 4" and "Halo 3." My brother asked to keep them after I leave the tour somewhere in Phoenix, Arizona, and my guess is I'll never see those games again.
There might even be a chance to get my game on right at Warped Tour, too.
The official website for the tour lists Electronic Arts' "Facebreaker" and "Rock Band" as official sponsors of the tour. I don't know if that means either game will have a presence at Warped Tour, but I remember playing "Guitar Hero" at Warped Tour one year.
There's also a good chance I will do anything but touch video games next week. It's not often that I'm able to hang out with my brother; he's always touring. But we'll need something to do during the six-hour drive to Ventura, California and the nearly seven hours after that towards Phoenix.
13 hours of aimless driving? Yeah, I'll fit some games in somewhere.
