New Queens of the Stone Age Music Video Done in Total ‘Rock Band’-Style

While Konami announced their new music game “Rock Revolution” this week, rockers Queens of the Stone Age premiered a music video done entirely in “Rock Band” form.

Watch a virtual representation of Josh Homme and co. perform “3’s & 7’s” from their latest disc Era Vulgaris:

With bands releasing new songs via video games, are these virtual music videos also the wave of the future?

    There was actually a pretty cool show I saw once (G4 or Spike, can’t remember) called “Video Mod” IIRC that took songs by various artists and then modded video games to work as videos for the song. It was actually pretty cool.

    I really appreciate the fact that anyone who doesn’t live in the U.S. can’t see the videos - but the pop up ads still work.

    Nice of you to think of your international readers.

    Jerk asses.

    Canadian reader… can’t access it..

    The real 3’s & 7’s video was directed by Paul Minor as a trailer for a fake movie in a similar style to Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof.

    I love this song. This is the real song, though, for what it matters. The Rock Band version has the wrong lyrics at the bridge, and it always throws me for a loop. I actually like the Rock Band lyrics a bit better … but whatever. :-)

    I’m pretty sure that it’s not Tracey’s personal fault that people outside the USA can’t see MTV’s embedded videos. Stop whining and contact someone who can actually do something about it, if that person even exists.

    @Doctor Proctor,
    “Video Mods” was an MTV2 show. Some of the videos can be seen here: http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/video_mods/videos.jhtml

    @Neal & Daryl,
    Our sincere apologies. If we could allow those in Canada and the U.K. to view our videos we most certainly would, but it’s a site-wide issue we’re working on.

    @Sharpless,
    Thanks for acknowledging it’s not my fault. As for who to contact about it, it’d be the same folks you’d tell to play more music videos on MTV. ;)

    @Everyone,
    Thanks for checking out the blog (and at least trying to check out the video).

    If I wanted to make this video auto play on myspace how would I do it?
