Much like everything else in my life, this week’s $13.37 Gamer hasn’t exactly gone as planned. Originally, I was planning on doing a sweet combo recommendation of downloadable content that would have had any shoppers out there coming in at just over $10, but, instead the total is going to come in at just under the $13.37. Again, originally, the plan was to throw some support behind Sony’s sequel to “LocoRoco,” “LocoRoco Cocoreccho,” but then I downloaded it, and you should really just save your money on that one.
Instead, this week, it’s an all Bomberman $13.37 Gamer.
Back to the original plan, there’s a new “Bomberman LIVE” expansion pack (Bomb-Up Pack 2) this week that packs 10 new characters, two new levels, and an all new game mode into a frugal gamers’s dream, 250 MS points (also known in reality as $3.12). That’s a lot of “bang for your buck.” As an added bonus one of the new characters is the robot mascot for another great gaming blog Destructoid, and it looks pretty awesome. That alone is worth at least $3.
So here’s where it get’s a little tricky. If you already own “Bomberman LIVE,” then you’re all set. You’re done. You’re only spending $3.12 this week, leaving you $10.25 to spend on Pop Rocks and gummy worms (or whatever you crazy kids spend your money on these days). However, if you don’t have the game; get it. For 800 MS points (another trip to reality, $10.00) you get an update to a truly classic title, complete with a great online multiplayer, and a ton of game types, levels, and customizable characters. Overall, it’s a pretty solid purchase. This week we’ve saved you a quarter, a whole $.25 to go spend on whatever you’d like.
