Roominations, The Sequel

Room
Peter Molyneux’s “Room” technology may well allow game developers to change the way they do business. Even if it doesn’t, Molyneux’s got one wicked toolset at his command.

Using “digital clay” it’s possible to create just about anything. Once the blob has been manipulated into a basic form it recognizes, it will turn into a specific object — a chair, a table, a desk, a car, what-have-you. In this way, a whole bunch of objects can be created quickly and without fuss.

Each individual room can have its own parameters. Throw an apple into one room and it might become a behemoth fruit, or rot and shrivel due to the ravages of time. Stuff in shared rooms can be borrowed, modified, traded … you name it.

This is some hot stuff. And I expect we’ll all be talking about this in the near future.

P.S.: In my room, everyone would look like Rollo from “Sanford and Son.” I’m just saying, is all.
